What is this thing called Google Adsense?
Google runs a highly profitable pay per click advertising program called Adwords. Advertisers take out ads on the Google Adwords network and then these ads are displayed on the search engine results pages and throughout the Content network. One of the most popular questions about Google Adsense is 'How does it work?'
How the heck does Adsense work?
Adsense is an ad serving application run by Google. Website owners can enroll in this program to enable text, image, and video ads on their websites. These advertisements are administered by Google and generate revenue on either a per-click or per-impression basis. The source for the ads is Google's revenue generating service Adwords.
How to make money with Google Adsense
It is relatively simple to become an Adsense partner. Go to Google.com/Adsense and register your website (you have to have at least one website to get started.) Once you are registered, you will be able to obtain your unique code that you can place on your site which will display the Adsense ads. Every time one of your visitors clicks on an ad you earn money, the amount is dependent upon which ad the visitor clicked. While you can technically make a lot of money if you have hundreds of thousands of visitors to one site, the way most people make money is to have a lot of smaller sites that get a fair number of visitors. Thus, you should have a goal of putting up several “made for Adsense” sites a week. These sites are ideally 10 to 15 pages of content plus the required supporting pages such as your privacy policy.
Traffic is King in the Adsense world!
There are a number of ways to drive traffic to your website.
- Directory Submissions- By submitting your website to website directories, you are creating a lot of back links to your website. One theory is that the more back links you have to your site, the higher ranking your website will receive in the search engines. In another section of this website I show this isn't necessarily the case.
- Article Marketing- If you are good at writing and are knowledgeable, article marketing can be one of the best and fastest ways to generate traffic to your site. Just write unique articles and submit them to popular article directories such as EzineArticles and GoArticles.
- Start a Blog- A blog is a little bit like an online diary and you can pretty much write in it whatever you want. You should use your blog to support your website by making a post to your blog as often as you can. Write about related content, this will form a link to the same topics that are on your website and always put a link to your website at the end of each post. Every time you update your website, put a post in your blog about it. Every time you add an article to your website, add it to your blog also. The more you update your blog, the quicker your blog will receive traffic and drive that traffic to your websites. Since the information in Blogs changes often they are indexed by search engines on a regular basis, so your posts can rise in page rank much quicker than a website can. So work to get a good ranking with your blog and drive traffic to your website.

Summary
There is only one requirement for you to begin making money with Google Adsense. You must have a website before Google will give you an Adsense account.
If you want to enjoy a high success rate with Adsense place the ads on the pages of your website that are receiving high traffic for high demand keywords. There are many people making $10,000 to $15,000 and more a month building these made for adsense sites.
Once you get a system down and figure out how to find popular niches, this becomes a breeze. Remember, though, that you are not playing at this. Building an Adsense income is a business and you must work at like it is.
